Ten years of tracking every dollar
ClearMint Essentials didn't start as an idea to build another budgeting app. It started because I needed a better way to understand my family's financial future.
For more than a decade I tracked every income, expense, credit card purchase, bill, bank transaction, transfer and investment — importing bank statements every month, reconciling every transaction, and planning months ahead. The budgeting wasn't the valuable part. The valuable part was being able to answer one question: where will my money be three or six months from now? That question, answered in advance, changed how I managed money.
The software I depended on for that eventually became an expensive business accounting platform — P&L statements, balance sheets, corporate reports — built for companies, not families. I wasn't looking for enterprise accounting software. I wanted the personal finance planner that had guided my family for ten years. So I built it.

What started as a simple habit became one of the most valuable tools in our lives — the confidence to make better decisions, avoid surprises, and understand exactly where our money was going months before it happened.
What I wanted no longer existed: a modern, powerful tool built specifically for individuals and families, not corporations. So I decided to build it.
