ClearMint Essentials uses a minimal set of cookies and browser storage — only what's needed to run and improve the web app. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

What we use

  • Essential / local storage — to keep your financial data on your device, remember sync state and support offline use. Keys include your app data cache and, when signed in, auth tokens (cme_token, cme_refresh).
  • Session tokens — set by Supabase Auth so you stay logged in securely. Google OAuth sign-in may also set short-lived cookies during authentication.
  • Preferences — e.g. detected country for default currency (cme_geo_cc), notification toggles and UI preferences stored locally.
  • Payment — Stripe may set cookies during checkout to process payments and prevent fraud.
  • Bank linking — Plaid Link may set cookies or storage while you connect a financial institution.
  • Product analytics — PostHog sets cookies and local storage to measure how the app is used (features used, page views, clicks, device/browser). No screen or session recording — we do not capture what your screen looks like. Not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. See our Privacy Policy.
  • Merchant logos — logo.dev images are loaded from their CDN; your browser may cache them. We send merchant domain names, not transaction amounts, when requesting logos.

Managing cookies

You can clear cookies and local storage from your browser settings at any time. Note that clearing local storage will remove app data stored only on your device and sign you out — export a backup first via Settings → Data & Privacy → Export backup.

Blocking analytics cookies may limit our ability to diagnose problems but will not stop the core app from working.
