Data Deletion

You control your data. ClearMint Essentials is a web app — there is no separate mobile app to uninstall. Below are the ways to remove data, from quickest (one device) to full account deletion.
1. Clear data on this device (instant, local only)
- Open the app → Settings → Data & Privacy → Clear data on this device.
- This wipes the copy stored in your browser on that device only.
- Your cloud backup (if you are signed in) is not deleted and will restore on next sign-in.
- Export a backup first if you want to keep a copy (Export backup (JSON) in the same panel).
2. Delete specific imports (instant)
- Settings → Data & Privacy → Delete last import removes only the most recent OFX/CSV/PDF import and the recurring items it created.
- Older imports can be undone individually from import history in the app.
3. Request full account deletion (permanent)
To permanently delete your cloud account and all associated data:
- In the app — Settings → Data & Privacy → Request account deletion. This files a formal request; our team reviews it and emails you to confirm before anything is removed. Nothing is deleted automatically.
- By email — send support@clearmintessentials.com from your account email with the subject "Delete my account".
We aim to complete confirmed deletions within 30 days. You can keep using the Service until deletion is processed unless you ask us to suspend access sooner.
4. Request a full data export
For a complete copy of your cloud data, use Settings → Data & Privacy → Request full data export, or email support. You can also download an instant JSON or CSV backup anytime from the same settings panel.
What gets deleted
When your account deletion is confirmed and processed, we remove from our active systems:
- Your profile, financial records and synced settings
- Transaction ledger rows and cloud backup blob
- Plaid connection tokens and linked-bank metadata
- Household membership (other members retain their own accounts)
- AI assistant feedback tied to your account
- Pending household invites you created
Product analytics (PostHog) is keyed to an anonymous or account identifier — we request deletion or anonymization on our side when feasible; PostHog's own retention applies to already-ingested events. Encrypted backups and provider logs are purged on their normal rotation schedule.
Billing records required for legal, tax or fraud-prevention purposes may be retained by Stripe for the period the law requires.
